Water efficiency
We want to help your business save water
Water demand in our region is growing, but the amount of water available remains the same. With more people and a changing climate, we could face a deficit of five billion litres of water a day in the UK as soon as 2050.
Businesses use a lot of water — over 221 million litres a day in 2025 alone. Whether it’s for cooling systems, cleaning equipment and machinery, or farming, small changes can help save water, cut costs and help the environment. For example:
- Track your water use to find ways to spot waste.
- Collect rainwater for landscaping or cleaning.
- Use a fully loaded dishwasher in the office kitchen instead of washing by hand
We're working hard to reduce water demand and secure supply now, and in the future, which is why we're helping businesses reduce their water use. We’re offering a range of free water-saving tools and advice for all businesses in our supply area.
Want to save water but not sure where to start?
Your water retailer can help. Get in touch with them to find out how you can start your water saving journey. Their contact details are on your water bill or get in touch with us and we can help you to find out.
We’re working with all retailers in our area to support water-saving projects of all sizes.
