A sandy bay that has suffered from coastal erosion in the past. A new sea defence system has recently been built, along with a promenade behind the beach, to protect it from further erosion. There are rocky outcrops at either end of the beach.
Quality standards are set by the Bathing Water Regulations to make sure bathing waters are clean and healthy. Please note: The Coronavirus pandemic impacted EA regulatory bathing water sampling during 2020. As a result, bathing waters in England were not classified for the 2020 bathing season and therefore no official classification was published.
