What is WaterSafe Register?

WaterSafe Register is a free online search directory funded by the UK water industry to help customers find approved, qualified plumbers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. 

The scheme is a national accreditation body which checks and approves businesses and their plumbers to give reassurance about their qualifications to keep drinking water safe and healthy.

Why should I use a WaterSafe Register approved plumber?

Using an approved plumber or plumbing business helps prevent the risk of drinking water being contaminated by poor plumbing or sub-standard products. Plumbers approved through WaterSafe Register have specific training in the Water Fittings Regulations and Byelaws, to ensure they meet the strict legal requirements for installing water pipes and fitting.

NHS guidance is to only use WaterSafe Register approved plumbers, and they are also backed by all the water companies in the UK and the drinking water quality regulators. WaterSafe Register approved plumbers must all follow WaterSafe Register's customer commitments, conditions of membership, and scheme rules; and have customer redress arrangements in place.
