Have YOUR say on our proposed developer charges – invitation to join our charges consultation

Join our annual developer charges consultation

We've had great success working with our developer services customers through initiatives such as our Developer Days and participation in NWG's Innovation Festival.  These conversations have helped us better understand your priorities and continue improving the services we provide.

As the water industry continues to evolve, maintaining an open dialogue with our customers is more important than ever.  We recognise the importance of delivering value for money in the current environment and are committed to working together as one team to provide the best service and outcomes for developers and customers alike.  As part of this commitment, we'd like to hear your views on our proposed developer charges for the coming year.

Our charges are published annually on 1st February and come into effect on 1st April.  They are governed by Ofwat's charging principles.  Our objective is to develop charges that are fair, transparent, and increasingly cost reflective, while continuing to provide value for money for our customers.  Developer Services remains a cost-neutral activity, meaning we do not make a profit from the services we provide.

We continue to review our charging arrangements to ensure they more accurately reflect the costs of delivering services.  This helps create a fairer charging framework for all customers and provides greater transparency around how charges are calculated.  We know from customer feedback that understanding costs and receiving good value for money are key priorities, and these considerations remain central to our approach.

Like many organisations, we have experienced increases in costs across several areas in recent years.  Where possible, we seek to phase in changes to minimise the impact on customers.  However, as we continue our journey towards greater cost reflectivity, this is not always possible.

That is why we remain committed to being open and transparent about our charges.  We are continually improving the level of detail provided within our charging arrangements and quotations, helping customers clearly understand the activities and services they are paying for.  We also want our customers to have confidence that our teams are available to explain charges, answer questions, and work collaboratively to find the best solutions.

Your feedback plays an important role in shaping our approach, and we look forward to working together to ensure our charging arrangements continue to meet customer needs while supporting the delivery of excellent developer services.
