A circus of celebration at Riverside

03 May 2011

Riverside Children’s Centre in North Shields will open its doors for a ‘Circus of Celebration’ this weekend (7 May).

The event, for families from the local area with children under the age of five, aims to encourage more parents and carers to try out the centre and find out what it can offer.

The centre is already very popular and well-used, and North Tyneside Council are keen to ensure that any local families who would benefit from its facilities and support, do so.

Saturday’s event runs from 11 am until 2 pm and will feature a huge range of fun activities including circus games, mini Olympics, baby massage, face painting, arts and crafts and a bungee trampoline. Healthy snacks and treats will also be on offer, with free bottled tap water kindly provided by Northumbrian Water.

Parents can find out about the range of support on offer at North Tyneside Council’s Children’s Centres, including at Riverside, tour the facilities, and sign up for free membership.

Centre Manager Keith Berry said: “We are opening are doors up to our local families and hope they will come along and enjoy the range of activities we’ve put on, as well as find out more about what we’re all about and how we can support them.”
