Tap into living water

There’s a new look source on tap today for people to click and find out more about what their water company is doing and how it is performing.

Featuring both Northumbrian Water and Essex & Suffolk Water highlights, it can be found at www.welivewater.co.uk

The strikingly illustrated and easy to use click-quick site features 24 sections containing information, case studies and videos about a wide range of activities of the award-winning company.

It’s an interactive site which will be regularly refreshed with new information.

The site is launched today as the parent company, Northumbrian Water Limited, publishes its Annual Performance Review and Financial Statements for 15 months ended 31 March 2015.

Chief Executive Officer, Heidi Mottram, said: “I am pleased that our planning, hard work and investment have resulted in service levels that continue to improve and are at the very forefront of industry performance.

“This brings us even closer to our aim to be the national leader in the provision of sustainable water and waste water services. Whilst this is an excellent set of outcomes, and we are justifiably proud of what we have achieved, we are not complacent and have plans to make further service improvements in 2015-16.

“And from today our customers, stakeholders and everyone who is interested in what we do can find out more by joining us on our new ‘we live water’ website.”

Areas highlighted on the new web site include: company performance; customer service; value for money; drinking water quality and water efficiency; protecting and enhancing the environment and tackling sewer flooding; working in partnership; commitments to communities ,charities and volunteering; health and safety and employee development.

Performance excellence in the Annual Review includes:
• Improved industry-leading performance for interruptions to drinking water supply.
• Maintained industry-leading sewage treatment compliance.
• Regained leading bathing water quality results.
• Reduced risk of homes being flooded from sewers.
• Further reduction in pollution incidents.
• Less discoloured water reports meeting regulatory targets.
• Secured security of supply for both Northumbrian Water (NW) and Essex & Suffolk Water (ESW)
• Achieved leakage targets for fourth consecutive year.
• Highly rated for customer service (SIM Service Incentive Mechanism).
