Interviews are available with participants and event organisers Helen Allister and Sarah Jane Harrison of Northumbrian Water’s Challenge 500 team, who are raising money for the Percy Hedley Foundation. Graduates from Northumbrian Water have organised a family fitness frenzy at Gateshead Stadium indoor athletics track on the afternoon of Saturday May 11 2013, in aid of the Percy Hedley Foundation.

The graduates are currently competing with 15 other teams regionwide to raise as much money as possible for the charity, which supports children, young people and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The event will start at 1.00pm with a 45-minute Bokwa Bounce session for families with children aged four years and over. This will be followed at 2.00pm by a two-hour Bokwa and Zumbathon for over 12’s. Registration for the event is open from midday.

Tickets are £5 per person per session or stay for both events for £6, with all proceeds going to the charity. One parent or guardian of children participating in the Bokwa bounce session can take part for free.

Helen Allister, one of the Northumbrian Water graduates organising the event, said: “We hope families will come along and join in as their way of supporting a local charity. It promises to be a fun afternoon of easy to follow moves.

“The event is open to all ages and abilities and there will be plenty of help on hand, so anyone who would like to try Bokwa or Zumba but have never been to a class before shouldn’t be afraid to come along and join in the fun.”

There are some fabulous raffle prizes to be won on the day, including photo shoot experiences, hampers, tasty treats and toys. Spectators are welcome and magician Rich Stevens will be on hand to entertain the crowds.

Places at the fitness frenzy are limited so people are advised to book their place as soon as possible. Tickets can be bought from the reception at Gateshead Stadium Indoor Athletics Track, NE10 0EF.
