A lucky Northumbrian Water customer is to get a year’s break from paying water bills – after scooping the top prize in a recent competition.
To encourage customers to switch to Direct Debit, the utility entered everyone paying by this method, including new sign-ups, into a free prize draw to win a year’s water and sewerage charges.
Direct Debit is a simple and easy way to pay regular commitments such as water bills. Payments are taken automatically so customers don’t have to worry about falling behind with important bills.
What’s more, paying by Direct Debit is a safe and secure option as its Guarantee protects against incorrect payments and provides a money back assurance if a mistake is made.
Mr Carr from Seaham was the lucky person who will have their Northumbrian Water bill taken care of for a year. The ecstatic winner said: “I am delighted to win and can’t believe it as I never usually win anything! It’s one less bill to pay so I’m really happy.”
Fiona Bouhdid, billing customer manager, said: “Congratulations to Mr Carr for winning such a fantastic prize. More and more customers are choosing to pay their bill by Direct Debit each year because of its simplicity and convenience.
“Customers who pay by Direct Debit can relax knowing that their water bill will be paid correctly and on time every month, without them having to do anything once it′s set up.”
To make the switch and sign up for direct debit go to http://www.nwl.co.uk/your-home/your-account/Direct-Debit.aspx. And it’s not too late to win – change to Direct Debit by June 30 2013 to be automatically entered into a free prize draw to win £12,000.
