SOLAR OBSERVING AT KIELDER OBSERVATORY
Ever wondered about how the sun works and what it looks like through a telescope? Peer safely at our very own star at the centre of our solar system and learn about how it produces its energy.

FAMILY ASTRONOMY AT KIELDER OBSERVATORY
A fun-packed family event including an interactive multimedia presentation, talks with astronomers and a tour of the Observatories. Ages 5+.

SHARP SHOOTERS DAY AT CALVERT TRUST KIELDER
Test your aiming skill on our Laser Clay shooting and Archery ranges. Age 5+.
Time: drop in between 10am and 4pm.
Cost: £10 per activity per person (includes either 30 clays or 15 arrows).

Saturday 7 June
DARK SKIES CHALLENGE
A cycle challenge with a difference! How many laps of Kielder reservoir can you complete by the light of the moon? Jointly organised by two charities – The North East Autism Society and Cry in the Dark. All proceeds will be split equally between each charity.
Time: 7pm, Saturday 7 June - 7am, Sunday 8 June
Cost: £40 with commitment to raise £150 in sponsorship, or £200 per person.

4x4 SAFARI
A family orientated event, follow guides trail blazing in the heart of the Park.

COSMOLOGY WORKSHOP AT KIELDER OBSERVATORY
From the Big Bang to the end of the universe – specialist courses with interactive talks, discussions and learning activities, followed by observing.

PLANTS: CONTEMPORARY DRAWING WITH ARTIST LOUISE BRADLEY AT KIELDER CASTLE
A practical drawing/painting workshop using traditional observational drawing techniques and some experimental methods. Participants should bring their own drawing/painting materials and a packed lunch (or there are café facilities available).

HAND-CARVED WOODEN SPOONS AT KIELDER CASTLE
Work with a professional green woodcraftsman and learn how to carve a spoon from a split piece of green round wood, inspired by Norwegian and Swedish designs. Bring a packed lunch (or café facilities are available). Age 14+.
