A brand new corporate challenge event has been hailed a success after raising over £5,000 to help a local disability charity.
Northumberland based charity, Calvert Trust Kielder held its first Kielder Quest, on Friday 8 March at the centre, located in the beautiful surroundings of Kielder Water & Forest Park.
The trust, which provides challenging outdoor adventure holidays for disabled people, welcomed 7 corporate teams to take part in physical and mental challenges in the new fundraising event.
Business colleagues from Northumbrian Water, UBS Wealth Management, DAC Beachcroft LLP, Wakefield Chartered Building Surveyors, Lumsden & Carroll Civing Engineering, Brainbox and Seymour Civil Engineering battled cold and wet weather conditions to complete 6 instructor led challenges including, The Rack, Giants Ladder, The Wall and Sticky Puzzle.
Lumsden & Carroll Civil Engineering were the events first winners taking home the Kielder Quest Trophy. A special award was given to Brainbox whose team was sponsored by Irwin Mitchell LLP, for displaying the best Team Spirit of the day.

“The centre is located in wonderful surroundings and the challenges tested the nerve of our team throughout. Our enthusiasm was not dampened by the dull weather and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to have another crack at it next year. Kielder Water & Forest Park Development Trust is a registered charity working at Kielder to promote sustainable development, provide recreational facilities, improve knowledge of the natural environment and encourage the arts.
