May

Saturday 5 May - BADGER WATCH
A rare opportunity to tour deep into the heart of Kielder Forest to watch badgers as they emerge from their sett in early evening to feed, play and do a bit of housekeeping. Time: 8:30pm – 11pm. Call: 01434 250 209 (booking essential). Cost: £10 per person.

Sunday 6 May - DAWN CHORUS WALK
A celebration of the beauty of bird song with expert Martin Davison in the heart of Kielder Forest. The Duke′s Pantry will provide a hearty breakfast afterwards. Time: 5am – 8am. Call: 01434 250 209 (booking essential)

Saturdays 12 and 26 May - 4x4 SAFARIS
A family orientated event with our guides trail blazing in the heart of the Park. In the comfort of your own vehicle, drive some of the more challenging and rough trails the forest has to offer. Sunday 13 May - KIELDER CLASSIC AND VINTAGE VEHICLE SHOW
Vintage tractors, classic cars and motorbikes are the order of the day at the sixth annual show. Time: 10:30am – 4pm. Call: Wes Turnbull on 07800 853 475 (booking not required). Cost: Free to attend (£4 daily car parking charge).

Watch these wise birds with expert researchers working on one of the country′s longest running owl studies.

Sundays 3 and 10 June - SHARP SHOOTERS DAY AT CALVERT TRUST KIELDER
Test your aiming skills on our laser clay pigeon and archery ranges. Age 5+. Time: Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm. Call: 01434 250 232 (booking not required). Cost: £20 per person (includes 30 clays and 15 arrows).

Saturday 9 June - BAT NIGHT

Monday 4 June - WATER DAY AT CALVERT TRUST KIELDER

Wednesdays 6 and 27 June - HIGH ROPES DAYS AT CALVERT TRUST KIELDER
Tackle the hanging cargo net, sprint along the swinging logs, make it across the balancing beams. Be brave, take the leap of faith. Age 5+. Time: Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm. Call: 01434 250 232 (booking not required). Cost: £10 per person (per circuit).

Fridays 8 and 29 June - SWING AND CLIMB DAYS AT CALVERT TRUST KIELDER

WORKING FOREST OPEN DAYS
Find out what goes on behind the scenes in one of Europe′s largest planted forests on this fascinating minibus tour. CAFÉ ASTRONOMIQUE - Monday 7 May

HOW THE SUN WORKS - Monday 23 July
Build a solar oven out of tin foil and a pizza box: it will reach temperatures of 240C. Learn about how the sun works and see it for yourself through our solar telescope. Time: 2pm – 5pm. Cost: Single tickets £10, family £27.

ROCKETS - Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 July

THE BORDER RAID – Part of The Bike Place Marathon Series - Saturday 5 May

Kielder Water & Forest Park Development Trust is a registered charity working to develop the Park as an inspirational place. Affiliate organisations that are not members but have a close working relationship with KWFPDT include Arts Council England, Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Environment Agency, The Scout Association and local decision making bodies such as the parish councils.
