We are asking you to be the best you can be so it’s only right we reward you well for your efforts. We are committed to a fair and competitive pay and benefits package for our people.
We monitor our salary levels against market rates of pay for all job roles. The majority of our roles [we call them standard terms] have published salary scales with a maximum point. You should normally expect to reach the maximum point within 3 years if you’re performing capably in your role.
We carry out a comprehensive review of our salary levels against market rates of pay every 3 years and we’ll adjust maximum points [up or down] if there’s been significant movement. We’ll protect your pay if you’re already earning more than the new maximum point. Performance is considered each year as part of our performance review process and opportunities for salary progression typically occur in April.
We also review salaries each April as part of a negotiation process with our Negotiation and Consultation Group.
We firmly believe that a good work-life balance is essential for maintaining a productive and happy working environment. We will do everything we can to give you a helping hand, from providing the opportunity to purchase childcare vouchers, to buying or selling annual leave, to our salary sacrifice car scheme.
Some of the key benefits we offer include:
• a pension scheme;
• a Back to Health scheme, free to all new employees, provides early intervention and support for conditions affecting their work in the company - the company also meets any tax liabilities.
• personal accident insurance,
• life assurance, and
• occupational sick pay.
Every year we review our flexible benefits and in addition to benefits above, we can offer special deals and savings for employees on a whole range of things including cinema tickets, retail vouchers and savings on your family holiday. There are so many ways to receive discount that over the year it could save you hundreds of pounds!
