Protecting customers from flooding.

Project Status: Monday 26 March 2012

All sewerage operations have now been completed and all of our customers are benefiting from an increased protection against sewer flooding.

All final highway reinstatement has now been completed by Northumbrian Water.

Cheveley Park play area was programmed for stone picking, topsoil tilling and seeding this week (week commencing 26 March 2012). At the request of the parish council this work has been postponed until they complete their work in the play area.

We are hopefully going to begin reinstatement work in the Grinstead Way compound area and Grange Court week commencing Monday 16 April 2012.

Cheveley Park Care Home, Dene Drive (tank area), Cheveley Park Primary School field and Heatherdale (tank area) are programmed for stone picking, cultivation and seeding of topsoil areas in the Spring.

Over the next few months Northumbrian Water’s contractors will be installing upgraded monitoring equipment in the new sewer pipes.

We would like to thank all of our customers affected by this essential work, to reduce the likelihood of flooding, for their patience and understanding throughout the course of the scheme.
