Direct Debit

Payments can be made on the 1st or 15th of the month. If you pay by Direct Debit you will automatically receive a reduction of up to £7.00 on your next bill (£3.50 for water and £3.50 for sewerage services from 1st April 2013). Telephone us to pay by debit or credit card

You can make a payment by calling our 24/7 automated payment service on 0845 604 6383. You will need your 12 digit customer reference number, found on your bill and your debit or credit card details. If you would like to make a payment and also require another service, you will need to speak to a customer advisor. Please call 0845 733 5566 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm on Saturday).

Pay by cash free of charge at any PayPoint outlet. You can find your nearest outlet by clicking on the link to the right of the screen.

Post

You should make any cheques or postal orders payable to Northumbrian Water and send them with your payment slip to Northumbrian Water, PO Box 300, Durham, DH1 9WQ. Your customer reference number should be written on the back of your cheque. Please do not send cash or post dated cheques through the post.

Your bank

You can take your payment slip and pay your bill at any bank over the counter. This is normally free at your own bank or if paying in cash at any NatWest branch.

Telephone or internet banking

If you have online or telephone banking please follow the instructions below:
• Please make payments to sort code 57-73-61 and account number 00000000
• When making a single payment only include your customer reference number, no additional names or addresses are needed. Your customer reference number is 12 digits long and will appear in three blocks of four numbers on your bill.
• Please enter your customer reference number without any spaces between the numbers.
• If you are paying multiple accounts, no reference numbers should be included in the narrative. Instead a remittance, detailing the separate customer reference numbers and amounts is needed. This can be sent via email to bacs@nwl.co.uk, fax to 0191 3016808 or posted to the above address.

Post Office

You can pay your bill at any Post Office using the payment slip. There is a charge of £2.85 for this service.
