The same number of trout as last year are still planned to be introduced with a minimum of 135,000 fish being stocked into the six premier reservoirs in the North East in 2013.
There is also more good news of a £5 reduction in the cost of a ‘Try it,’ three-hour tuition course for the under 18’s which has gone down from £20 to £15. This special offer has been made possible through a unique partnership with the British Trout Farmers Restocking Association (BTFRA) which has donated the proceeds of a memorial fund. The fund was collected following the funeral of the late trout farmer Rob Mackie from Lancashire.
As many as 20,000 fish will be waiting for anglers on the opening day on Saturday 16 March and many of them will be prime conditioned, home grown rainbows from our own fish farms in Northumberland and the Tees Valley
