Into Xstrata pit for new director

While the mining industry waits for Xstrata to make its move, it has made an intriguing addition to its board in the highly opinionated former boss of Canada's largest single- profession pension fund,

The man who has just retired from the head of Ontario Teachers Fund, Claude Lamoureux , is known in Canada for using his role as a "bully pulpit" for corporate governance. In the UK he sits on the board of Northumbrian Water, where the pension fund holds a large stake.
