MORPETH traders may be able to receive compensation for sewerage work being carried out in the town, writes ANDREW COULSON.
At a meeting of the Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade, Chairman Dave Pope said Northumbrian Water will offer a package to businesses if they can prove they have been badly affected.
The work began in October and is set to continue until the end of February.
Car parking spaces have been taken in Back Riggs to store equipment and there will also be roadworks and temporary traffic lights around the town.
Traders need to show Northumbrian Water their financial figures during this period along with comparable figures for the last two years.
