Businessman to lead forum

A PROMINENT businessman in the region has been chosen to lead the Northern Business Forum (NBF).

John Cuthbert, managing director of Northumbrian Water, has been appointed as chairman of the NBF and will take over from Alistair Arkley, who has held the position since 2003.

Mr Cuthbert, a former board member of One NorthEast and chairman of the Regional Skills Partnership, has served on the NBF board for five years.

He said: "NBF brings together key business people on a regular basis to stimulate dialogue and debate. It is a very effective forum in which to communicate, exchange views, pool information and formulate a broad business position on issues affecting business here in the region."
