Northumbrian Water has a statutory duty to prepare and maintain a Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) under the Water Resources Management Plan Regulations 2007 and Water Resources Management Plan Direction 2007. Under these recent provisions of the Water Industry Act 1991, water companies are required to produce a draft WRMP for consultation with the public and specified statutory consultees. The plan effectively forms part of the water industry’s five year periodic review of price limits.
The WRMP shows how we intend to maintain the balance between supply and demand over the next 25 years. A series of tables support the plan and provide our forecasts of demand, supply and other parameters over this period.
The consultation period for the Plan closed on 25 July 2008. Following consultation responses received on this document we have produced a 'Statement of Response to Consultation' as required under the Regulations. This statement details the considerations we have given to the comments made and the changes we have made to our WRMP as a result.
