Guide dog donation

23/03/2007

Guide Dog trainer Lynne Sanderson and guide dog to-be will receive £1,015 from representatives of Northumbrian Water Property Solutions and Tees Valley Law Society. The presentation will take place at Guide Dogs’ district team office in Stockton on Wednesday 28th March at 11am.

The Tees Valley Law Society dinner and raffle, held on Friday 9 March, was sponsored by Northumbrian Water Property Solutions, who donated prizes of Champagne and wine.

Debbie Wheeler, Guide Dogs’ corporate relations fundraising manager commented:

“It is a great pleasure to be the chosen charity of the year by Tees Valley Law Society and receive this donation. It costs £10 a day to breed, train and support each guide dog. There are currently 4,700 guide dog partnerships in the UK and we receive no government funding, therefore this donation will make a real difference to our local services.”

Northumbrian Water’s Shaun Cannell said:

“Although Northumbrian Water provides essential services to customers every day we are also immersed in community life throughout the region and are delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause that gives people a new ‘leash’ of life!”
