Important information about improvements to your water supply
Northumbrian Water is committed to ensuring that the drinking water it supplies to its customers throughout the region is of excellent quality. As part of this commitment our contractors, Alfred McAlpine, will be carrying out improvement work to water mains in the North Seaton area. This improvement work, which will also reduce leakage and safeguard water supplies for future generations, will begin on Monday 21 August 2006 with the vast majority of the work complete within seven months.
It is inevitable that while this improvement work is carried out some noise and disruption will occur. Traffic access may also be affected. We will make every effort, through careful planning, to minimise any disruption.
To ensure water quality is maintained to a high standard we are required to take water quality samples from a very small selection of properties. These samples will only be taken by employees from Northumbrian Water who will be wearing a Northumbrian Water uniform. They will be carrying official identity cards which we strongly advise you to check before letting anyone into your home. If you have any doubts please contact our Customer Centre on 0845 717 1100. Genuine Northumbrian Water employees will be happy for you to carry out this security check.
If you require any further information or advice now or during the work, please contact our Customer Centre on 0845 717 1100. We will be pleased to help.
