Unmetered charges

Understanding your bill as an unmetered customer

84p a day or £308 for the year commencing 1st April 2008 is the average bill for customers not on a meter. This covers the cost of supplying your clean water and the removal and treatment of your wastewater. And, if you pay by direct debit directly to us, this amount is reduced by up to £6.00.

Charges (for the period 1 April 2008 – 31 March 2009)

Your water and sewerage services bills are in two parts:

  • a fixed charge
  • a charge based on the rateable value or equivalent business rate of your property

For water you pay:

  • a fixed charge of £71.50
  • a charge of 43.13p per £ rateable value

For sewerage you pay:

  • a fixed charge of £101.00
  • a charge of 48.99p per £ of rateable value

Not connected for surface water drainage?

If you have a rateable value of £500 or less and your property does not drain any of its surface water to our sewers, you may claim a rebate of £36.60 for 2008/09. If you have a rateable value above £500 or are billed by chargeable area, you may also apply for a rebate in charges where your property is either not connected or partially connected for surface water drainage.
