Money down the drain

Failing to manage the impact your business has on the environment can result in money down the drain! Minimising the discharges from your site and seeking alternative means of disposal may save you money. Exploring the possibilities for using alternative materials and practices that do not result in the production of effluents, for example the re-use of water may also reduce costs to your business.

Are you aware of the legislation driving the prevention of pollution and consenting from the Environment Agency?

Do you understand the difference between a Discharge Consent from your Environment Regulator and a Trade Effluent Consent or Agreement from Northumbrian Water?

Have you considered all the options for disposal of your waste streams?

What are trade effluent charges, and how you can change those charges according to your own waste minimisation practices and procedures?

Following on from our series of successful seminars on Landfill Directive, IPPC Regulations etc, Northumbrian Water hosted a seminar to provide further awareness and understanding of 'Money down the drain' and the benefits available to you and your company.
