Metered charges

67p a day or £243 for the year commencing 1st April 2008 is the bill for customers on a meter 20mm in size. This covers the cost of supplying your clean water and the removal and treatment of your wastewater. And, if you pay by direct debit directly to us, this amount is reduced by up to £6.00.  

Charges

Your metered water and sewerage services bills are in two parts:

      For water you pay:

• a fixed charge of £30.00
• a charge for the amount you use (usage) measured in cubic metres of 89.11p

      For sewerage you pay:

• a charge of 84.95p per cubic metre.
• a fixed surface area band charge based on 'chargeable area' being the total area of the site that drains to our sewerage system. You can find further information of the banding by downloading a copy of our metered charges leaflet. 

Not connected for surface water drainage?

The fixed sewerage charge, calculated using rateable value and / or chargeable area covers the collection, treatment and disposal of surface water (rainwater) from your property. Also included within this is a charge for highway drainage.

Allowances against rateable value charges

If your property has a rateable value of £500 or less and it can be demonstrated that your property does not drain any of its surface water to our sewers, then you may claim an allowance of £36.60 for 2008/09.

If your property has a rateable value greater than £500 and it can be demonstrated that the property is either fully not connected or only partially connected for surface water drainage, then you can apply for an allowance of up to a maximum of 50% of your rateable value charge for 2008/09.

Allowances against chargeable area

The chargeable area of your site should be equal the total square area of the site from which surface water drains to our sewerage system. This chargeable area normally includes the area of the building and other hardstanding areas. If it can be demonstrated that some of the area included in your chargeable area does not drain to our sewerage network, then an allowance against chargeable area can be granted for 2008/09.
