Northumbrian Water Ltd (NWL) is required by the terms of its Instrument of Appointment and by Ofwat's statutory guidance to publish an Access Code, including indicative prices, for access to its water supply networks. It must review its Access Code, including the indicative prices, at least annually. Links are given below both to the latest version of our full Access Code and to an extract from that document that contains tables of indicative access prices and explanatory text.
NWL supplies water services in both the North East of England, where it trades as Northumbrian Water and in the South East, where it trades as Essex & Suffolk Water. The indicative prices cover both areas.
The indicative prices have been prepared in accordance with Ofwat's 'Access Codes Guidance', the latest version of which was published in July 2007 and is available from Ofwat's website, www.ofwat.gov.uk. The tables accord with the format specified in Chapter 6 of the Ofwat guidance.
Any formal application for access will be dealt with in accordance with NWL's Access Code. This includes the calculation of access prices on a case-specific basis, taking into account the particular aspects of the application. These case-specific prices may differ from the indicative prices, which are based on standard assumptions that may not apply in specific cases.
This page also contains links to several other relevant documents. The last three listed documents are also contained in appendices to our full Access Code.
