Table 2 – Price limits and household bills
“All monetary figures quoted in this table (including infrastructure charges) are in 2004/05 prices.”

Line 1 - Price Limits K
“The figures shown in line 1 relate to the Northumbrian Region only and differ slightly from the 'K' factors published by Ofwat covering the whole company, including the Essex & Suffolk Region, in which we only supply water services.”

Table 4 - Drinking water quality performance

Lines 7 and 8 – Distribution mains renovated, distribution mains cleaned
The profile of the length of main reported in the Monitoring Plan is different to that assumed by Ofwat in the Final Determination. The Drinking Water Inspectorate has supported the changes to the profile.

Table 5 – Sewerage service –current performance and planned outputs

Line 5 - External flooding due to other causes
This is a relatively new figure that has only been collected for two years and reported in the Annual Return in Table 3a for 2003/04. This reported figure will vary from year to year due to factors outside of the company’s control, including the weather. We have taken the available data (1153 in 02/03 and 1052 in 03/04 ) and used the average to derive the figure for the AMP4 period.

Line 13 – Sewerage non-infrastructure
“There is a single defined capital maintenance output within the capital programme. This is for a replacement sludge ship to ensure the maritime transport route to our regional sludge treatment centre at Bran Sands is not compromised.”
