Every five years Ofwat sets limits on the prices water companies can charge their customers. In December 2004, prices were decided for the period April 2005 to March 2010. This was called the Periodic Review of Price Limits 2004 or “PR04”.
Ofwat set prices after careful consideration of the company’s final business plan, which took full account of the views of our customers and WaterVoice. Now that the PR04 process is complete we have described in this leaflet what customers can expect over the coming 5 years.
We are committed to providing our customers with excellent standards of customer service in all areas of our activity. We will also deliver significant improvements in drinking water quality, a major programme to alleviate flooding from sewers and further work to improve the water environment.
Whilst it is regrettable that bills have to increase in the future, they will still be lower in real terms (ie. after inflation) in 2009/10 than they were in 1999/00.
