Celebrate the beauty, culture and diversity of Northumberland in a fun-filled day out for all the family - the first ever magical lantern festival at Kielder Water & Forest Park.
During the day, you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of free, family-orientated music, art and dance workshops celebrating cultural diversity and the heritage of Northumberland as well as the chance to make your own lantern (small charge).
As the evening draws in you can take part in a lantern-lit procession through Kielder Forest and down to the shores of Kielder Water, where an extravagant water-based finale awaits you. Incorporating floating lanterns, water jets, screens and dream-like water imagery, this promises to be an impressive display in a truly unique setting.
The Kielder Festival of Lanterns on Saturday 20th March 2010 is now fully booked.
The event is organised by Kielder Partnership, together with Dodgy Clutch, and is supported by Northumberland County Council.
To request more information about the workshops email hexham.tic@northumberland.gov.uk or call 01434 652 220. Alternatively, sign up to our e-newsletter at www.visitkielder.com to receive updates on the event.
