Indoor pool and sauna

Soothe your senses with a sauna or enjoy a swim in the indoor heated swimming pool.

Private hire is also available for groups at a cost of £40.00 per hour.

Kielder Play Garden

Let your children create their own adventures at the Kielder Play Garden!

The Kielder Play Garden uses a combination of landscape design, sculptural elements, state of the art play equipment and brightly patterned tower structures. 

Transforming an area of Leaplish Waterside Park into a miniature landscape suitable for children of all ages to play in.

Mapping minigolf

Mapping is the new challenging and interactive way of playing minigolf.

The 13 hole golf course which has been designed by a local artist, overlaps two maps of the Kielder area – one present and one past.

There is no designated route which allows the players to create their own course, so it can be different every time you play.

The Boat Inn restaurant and bar

The restaurant and bar is the perfect compliment to your visit due to its waterside setting, your dining experience will be accompanied by panoramic views across the water to the distant shores. There is a full range of hot and cold food served daily.

If you just want to sit back and relax, the bar offers a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, speciality coffees and snacks to allow you to enjoy your evening.

Saturday 5 and 12 November                  11.00am to 10.00pm. Meals served from 12noon to 5.00pm. Evening menu served from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Sunday 6 anbd 13 November 11.00am to 4.30pm. Meals served from 12noon to 3.30pm.

Osprey ferry

The 74 seat motor cruiser 'The Osprey' ferry is an ideal way
to see Kielder Water in comfort as well as providing an opportunity to learn more about the history of the reservoir and the area. Refreshments and toilet available onboard. Sailings call at Leaplish Waterside Park, Tower Knowe Visitor Centre and Belvedere (please check timetable for more information). The ‘Osprey’ ferry can accommodate manual wheelchairs and bikes (limited spaces) around the lake.

The ferry will operate daily with extended sailings offered throughout the season.  Times may be subject to change and weather dependant, any queries call 01434 251 000. People wanting to learn more about the iconic osprey birds rearing triplet chicks at Kielder Water & Forest Park, and increase their chances of seeing the adult birds hunting, can take a special daily cruise on the public ferry, also called Osprey.

Go Active sporting activities

Visitors to Kielder lodges and Kielder Caravan Park have access to professional training and tuition for a range of mainstream sporting activities to suit everyone as part of a ‘go active’ break.  Activities available include archery, junior archery, water walkerz, sea scooters and much more.

Kielder Water Birds of Prey Centre

The centre contains one of the largest and most fascinating collections of birds of prey in the north of England including eagle, hawk, falcon, kestrel, vulture, owl, kite and goshawk.

Aside from the beautiful birds on display there are demonstrations, hawk walks, hunting days and falconry courses.

Fishing

Kielder Water is one of Northumbrian Water's premier fisheries and with its outstanding natural beauty and quality of fish it is easy to see why. It is possible to fish by boat too. 

Pleasure boats

Hire a motor boat and take to the water to explore the largest man-made lake in northern Europe. Boat hire is available from reception at Leaplish Waterside Park in July through to August, times may be subject to change and depend on the weather. Rules and regulations do apply.

Hire period 16th July - 31st August 2011
Available Wed to Sun (first hire period 12 noon, last hire period begins at 16:00 for full hour and 16:30 for half an hour).
Charges £19 per hour or £12 per half hour (regardless of number of boat occupants).

Wildlife garden

The wildlife garden comprises both a raised pond and butterfly shaped bed, bog and drought garden and nest box demonstration area. Adders, butterflies, stoats and amphibians inhabit the garden.

Squirrel hide

The squirrel hide is a ten minute walk from Leaplish where you can see a variety of woodland birds and sightings of the native red squirrel.
