Kielder Winter Wonderland is full of surprises and familiar attractions for the family to enjoy.  A day at Kielder Winter Wonderland includes the following activities:

Elves workshop leading onto a visit to Santa's secret hideaway

Santa’s secret hideaway

Woodland elves will guide you through the enchanted forest where you may meet some of Santa’s magical friends busying away for Christmas.  You will then visit Santa to receive a gift in his magical secret hideaway.   

Elves’ workshop

The elves are busy working towards the big day and they are always looking out for someone to help.

Mrs Christmas kitchen

Santa and his helpers are getting ready for the big day but they all still need to eat to keep their strength up. See what Mrs Christmas and her forest friends are up to in her kitchen.

Christmas theatre

The elves are putting on a show so you can see just how mischievous they can be.

Arts and crafts

Even Santa needs some help and you could be perfect person to do so. Enjoy making your own Winter Wonderland souvenir to take home.

Skating

Enjoy the lakeside and forest views as you skate round the synthetic skating rink.

Snow tubing - now even longer

Enjoy a festive rush as you slide down the slippery slope on snow tubes. A thrill ride for all ages.

Festive snacks

The Boat Inn restaurant and bar will be serving a selection of hot food and drinks and festive snacks from the menu.  A marquee also serving snacks is located on the lakeside at the back of the Boat Inn.  Please note, we do not have space indoors for people to consume their own food on site.

Adult Christmas gifts

Every paying adult will receive a Christmas gift.

Christmas shop

If you would like to take a gift home with you, visit our Christmas shop located in the entrance to the Boat Inn.  Confectionery and gifts are a selection of what’s available.

Other facilities available

Leaplish swimming pool*

If you fancy something different, why not go for a swim in our indoor heated swimming pool and take a sauna.  This needs to be booked in advance at reception.

Mapping golf*

Mini golf with a difference so why not challenge your party to a game.  Call into reception for more details.

Birds of Prey Centre*

Why not get some hands on experience and demonstrations with birds from the wild.  The centre contains one of the largest collections of Eagle, Hawk, Falcon, Kestrel, Vulture, Own Kite and Goshawk in the north of England.  New for 2008 is the addition of wallaby and white baby wallaby, fallow deer and great white pelicans.

Play garden

Explore the miniature landscape suitable for children of all ages to play in.  The playground is located next to the enchanted barn. 

After you have booked your tickets you will receive a confirmation of booking which includes your day pass for either a snowman or a reindeer and it will list your activity times.  It is very important that you arrive at your activity at least five minutes before your allocated times to make sure you do not miss your session.  We regret that we strictly cannot accommodate late arrivals.

Please note: open Saturday 22nd November until Sunday 21st December 2008 including Friday 12th December, Monday 15th December, Thursday 18th December, Friday 19th December and Monday 22nd December.  Santa’s secret hideaway, Elves’ workshop, Mrs Christmas kitchen, Arts and crafts and Christmas theatre all operate to a timetable.  Please ensure that you arrive on time for your designated slot as late arrivals cannot be reslotted.  Kielder Winter Wonderland is a children’s experience ideally suited for children three to ten years of age and as such the number of adults that can attend certain activities may be limited.  Children under the age of one cannot participate in all of the activities but will receive a gift from Santa.  Age, height and skate size restrictions apply on some of the experiences.   This is an outdoor winter experience and subject to changeable weather conditions.  Please dress appropriately – warm outdoor clothing and outdoor winter footwear are advised.  Terms and conditions apply.  Telephone calls may be recorded for training purposes.  Winter Wonderland is a very popular event and therefore you may experience long waiting times when booking by telephone.  Please check call charges with your network provider.
